Overview

Bruximity Alert is a macOS menu bar app that detects jaw clenching using your Mac's camera. Your privacy is fundamental to how this app is built — all jaw detection happens entirely on your device.

Camera Usage

The app accesses your camera to analyze jaw movements using Apple's Vision framework. Camera frames are processed in real time on your device and immediately discarded. No images or video are ever stored, recorded, or transmitted.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Clench episodes and daily statistics are stored locally using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time from Settings > General > Clear All Data.
• Your preferences (sensitivity, schedule, alert settings) are stored locally using UserDefaults.

Analytics

The app uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, aggregate usage signals. TelemetryDeck is privacy-first and does not collect personal data, device identifiers, or IP addresses. The signals collected include:

• App events (monitoring started/stopped/paused, dashboard opened, settings opened, onboarding completed)
• Clench detection events with bucketed duration (e.g. "10–15s", "30–60s") — no timestamps or exact values
• Settings changes (sensitivity level, schedule toggle)

No clench data, camera data, or personally identifiable information is included in these signals. You can learn more about TelemetryDeck's privacy practices at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

No Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any of your data to third parties, except for the anonymous usage signals described above sent to TelemetryDeck.

Bruximity Alert does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use.
